Winding down

Well after almost 2 weeks my (our) body is wrecked. I hurt in places I didn't know I had... Really! But in the end it's all good. Hope Ottawa is going great and that the good weather we had here will arrive and stay there.

By the way, full moon 2 days ago and our neighbouring cottage, presently housing Ottawa wind/kite surfers decided to go out for a moonlight session. We could hear people yelling outside so we headed out on the porch to see 4 Kooks out windsurfing on the water around 11:30 pm. It was quite hilarious!

Time to wind down here and start the coming home process. Here are some parting shots.

Cheers, Nic.

Sunny windless Sunday, better Monday

perfect day for 15 cents shrimps, more on that later. Meanwhile, we are off to the beach, because there's no wind today. It is however a gorgeous sunny warm day.
If you zoom in , you'll see fins, it's up to you to guess what they are. Anyways, Christian and I head out on an inflated SeaDoo Kayak to great them, but to no avail, they are much better swimmers then we are paddlers. Anyhow, they seemes to be in a feeding frenzy and I had no intentions of becoming food.

OK, This entry has lasted 2 days now. Internet was down yesterday so here's some new updates: Monday was winday!

An old batch of friends was replaced by a fresh bunch, and happy times are rolling, as usual. Tuesday calls for light winds, incresing in the afternoon, and that spells a recipe for Beach Volleyball, and hopefully windsurfing later on.

OK That's it for now, it's pretty much the usual, wake up, eat, soak in some sun, plys in the water, eat some more, take pics and video, play in the water, prepare for a feast every supper, have a couple of cold ones in the hot tub, sleep and start over the next day. Man, will I ever be productive when I get back!

Freaky Friday

25+ knts of goodness all afternoon. Ended the day with a sunset session with some fellow Kiters. After that Tina made us an excellent Chicken and Apricot stew. Top that off with Porto and a movie, it's a tough life.

Today (Saturday) a new gang arrives, some from Gatineau, lots from Ottawa and other places. Hoping the wind gods are blessing us this week as well. Other then that, my back is killing me, so I just might have to take a sick holiday. Tom, you listening? But you know what... I like my job, so I won't :)

That's it for now, Tina beckons to go play on the water.

Cheers all.

Windless Thursday

A well deserved wind break today, well not really but we all say that when there's no wind. Even the Kitters couldn't tease me today. So what's to be done when Eole is not here...Shop, and shop we did.

Went to Nag's Head at the Outlets, then off to Kitty Hawk for some Wave Riding Vehicles goodness, it's nice to shop for shorts, so much quicker then trying on pants!
Lunch @ Beach Bread Company always a delight, then back to Hatteras to check on the flags for possible afternoon winds. Although Avon had people on the water, then wind was hiding up here in Rodanthe. That spells Beer and Blog. So here I am, in our top floor loft, typing away while sipping a nice cold one, whatching some kayakers in the sounds.
Life is good, hope yours is too!
Cheers to my Windsurf gang , Work gang and Folks @Home in Ottawa and Moncton. XOXO.

Windy in Hatteras

Pourquoi Hatteras

Many people ask me: What's Hatteras and why? Simple, it's a windsurfing mecca, well at least a nice place to play in the water. Here are a few shots of our cottage, beach and setup from previous years.

As you can see, the Cottage is Huge and very comfortable, the beach is right off the deck, and there's wind. Need I say more?
